万物を構成する神秘のエネルギー「エーテル」
世界は「エーテル」より生まれ、「エーテル」を利用して繁栄した。
人間は「エーテル」を自在に操ろうと考えて、「魔導科学」を編み上げた。
魔導科学を使い、人間は大地を動かし、生き物を作り変え、
天にかかる星の動きさえも、自在にしようとしていた。
しかし、その繁栄も「エーテル」の枯渇で終わりを迎えた。
「エーテル」を失った魔導機械は動きを止め、多くの魔導都市が廃墟になった。
だが、「魔導科学」の恩恵になれきった人間達は、魔導機械を手放す事が出来ず、
わずかに残った「エーテル」を滅び行く世界から搾り取る。
心ある者は、滅びをくい止めようとするが、力及ばぬまま、時だけが過ぎていった。
滅びの時だけが・・・
主人公ラインが薬草を取りに行く所を、ハガルに邪魔されるが、
賢者サフキールと出会い、助けられる所から始まっていく。
「神々の遺産」で活躍したゼロやメイシア、
「獣王の証」で大暴れしたナジュやケイルが登場する
時空を越えた壮大な物語となる。
